Affirmations aren’t just a popularized social media trend. Backed by scientific evidence, stating daily affirmations, or positive statements of what you want your life to be like, can help rewire your brain for the best. The best way to formulate your own affirmations is to take the parts of yourself you wish to improve, such as your self-confidence, and create a statement that you would say after you’ve completely transformed into this new version of yourself — Basically, put the final step at the beginning. By doing so, you can take advantage of your brain’s neuroplasticity to believe these images until they become reality.

Proclaiming yourself as “wise” allows you to reflect on your past growth and acknowledge the growth from any previous hardships you’ve been through, implying that you’re now better off. The term “calm” can help people with turbulent emotions and “confident” will cover your pride in your choices and actions.
2. If you struggle with acknowledging your own efforts: “I am doing my best which is more than enough.”
If you exhibit some perfectionist tendencies, this one is for you. This affirmation covers two important parts: Acknowledging your efforts and stating that they are beyond what is necessary, because let’s face it: Most of us are going above and beyond but refuse to commend ourselves for it. And yes, sometimes simply getting through a day of work on a tough day is going above and beyond.
